KCAA Preschools of Hawaii is looking for energetic, dedicated individuals, who enjoy working for a cause to join our team.  The Maintenance Technician will be utilized to respond to multiple types of work orders.  They must be able to assess the issue, understand how to properly document, and prioritize the appropriate next steps.

Primary responsibilities are to perform general maintenance of preschool properties. Maintenance to include minor plumbing and electrical. Upkeep of building such as fixing structural damage, such as windows and doors. Repair leaking plumbing to avoid water damage, minor electrical, such as severed wiring. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injury. Minor painting to keep facility looking sharp.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Provide maintenance of property. Duties include, but are not limited to cleaning, painting, interior/exterior maintenance, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, repair or replacement of lights, roof repairs, etc.*
  • On-call emergency repairs and completes repairs as needed.
  • Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.
  • Completes and submits all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keeps supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommends corrective actions to supervisor.
  • Works cooperatively and always conducts oneself in a professional manner when in contact with consumers, staff, subcontractors, monitors and the public. Deals with customers and others in a diplomatic and positive manner.
  • Demonstrates good verbal, written and listening communication skills as measured by accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the corporate/project policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Always promotes and practices IIF (Incident and Injury Free) safety culture.

 

Flexible hours working Tuesday – Saturday
